Yesterday we read the beginning of the story of The Tempest. You may want to re-read it today to remind yourself! 

Answer these questions aloud to yourself or to someone at home:

  • What do we know about Prospero?
  • What is he doing/why?
  • Why is Miranda (his daughter) worried but he is calm?
  • Who is Ariel and what is their relationship to Prospero?
  • How does Prospero feel about Ariel?
  • How does Ariel feel about Prospero? 
  • Who is Caliban and what is his relationship to Prospero?
  • How does Prospero feel about Caliban?
  • How does Caliban feel about Prospero?


Main Activity: 

Choose one of the 4 main characters (Miranda, Prospero, Ariel or Caliban). Write down kind of person they are, what feelings they have, and how they link to the other characters.



Repeat the activity above for another one, two or three characters. 

Name 3 similarities and differences between Caliban and Ariel's relationship with Prospero.
