Happy Easter Ford Class!
Whole Class Learning Today:
Phonics: On a Friday we focus on the four sounds the children have been learning in the week (which are different for each year group).
Year R – y, z, zz and qu
Year 1 – ay, ou, ie and ea
- Children can use the online platforms we have shared this week.
- You could dictate simple sentences for them to write including words containing the sounds (around 3)
- Children could spell words by forming letters with play doh
- Write letters/ words in shaving foam
- Share a story (read by you). Can they spot a given sound as you read?
- Listen to your child read a book
RE: We have been learning about the Easter message this term. Adults, please can you share the Easter message. I have included a short clip, alternatively you could read from your Bible. https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/religious-studies-ks1-the-christian-story-of-easter/zhgv47h
Children can then write a short prayer saying what they are thankful for. It would be lovely to see some drawings included too. I have include a page in resources – this is optional.
Science: Can you plan a healthy meal? I have attached a PowerPoint should you want it looking at different food groups. Children to plan and make a healthy lunch – and eat it (yummy). I look forward to seeing lots of lovely food pictures.
Reading: Please find and read a story on Oxford Owl – I will be very happy if you email me what you have read. Maybe children could rate the story out of 5. Please let me know how your children are finding reading digital book, any feedback would be gratefully received.
DT: Can you evaluate the meal that you made? – I have attached a sheet you could use. Instead; you could record a short video, photos of thumbs up/ down etc. This doesn’t need to be recorded, but it would be great if you could tell your adults if you would have the meal again. How your dish could be improved? What is one thing you would change?
Well done for a great week!
I will announce the learner of the week on our class page this afternoon.
I hope you all have an ‘eggcellent‘ Easter.
