Firstly, thank you for the commitment to your child’s learning we have been overwhelmed with your response to these exceptional circumstances. We are all navigating our way through this new way of teaching and learning. Moving forward, we want to provide your children with opportunities that they will be able to build upon once they return to school. Our main focus will be maintaining skills in Reading, Phonics, Writing and Maths. Much of the learning we send home will centre on these principles. We will also be providing optional additional activities which focus on the broader curriculum.
We have been in contact with many of you to discuss the best way that we can support you and your children. Much of the feedback has been ‘less is more’. As such, we have tried to break learning down into more manageable chunks which require less technology, as we are aware this has been an issue for some.
Please find learning grids under the 'planning tabs' with a range of activities your child can choose from daily. It is only expected you pick one activity from each column. Although, we advise you read with your child daily. We have also included a resource section which contains worksheets and other learning materials should you wish to use them (there is no expectation that these get completed). As some of you have expressed preference in this learning style we thought we would upload them for you to choose from should you wish.
We welcome all feedback regarding this new way of remote learning. As always, we are here to support you with the teaching and learning of the children. Please do not hesitate to email us or phone the school.
Above all, please enjoy the time with your children.
“In play a child always behaves beyond their average age, above their daily behaviour; in play it is as though they are a head taller than themselves.”
