Open the Book
This is a project which provides resources and guidance so that members of our local church, who have been DBS checked, can come into school once a month to present Bible Stories in an accessible and enjoyable way as part of the school’s morning collective worship.
Each presentation begins with an introduction as we all 'open the book'. A Bible story is enacted with costumes, visual aids and usually participation from the children. The children always engage with the story enthusiastically in an imaginative way.
After the story there is a time of quiet reflection and a closing prayer, which children may make their own if they wish to say “Amen.”

Below are photographs from Open the Book assemblies. There are always lots of volunteers to participate and play the Bible characters, ably directed by the ladies and gentleman.
